Modern Society
By
J Scott Runia
Money and drugs, sex and power –
The joys of this age make devils cower.
All want to live lives of glitz and glamour –
Surely society has become quite sour.
Like milk that remains past expiration,
Our societal blunders have brought devastation
At men, women, children of every nation,
Society glares – a beautiful abomination.
Its beauty debated, its evil inherent.
What more can be said to make this apparent?
Should it be stated that the poor are dependant
Upon generosity that is often not spent –
Not on the poor, just on the rich.
Societal process; it sure is a bitch.
Never in history has there been a switch,
Darwinism persists; not even a hitch.
